When do I get my tickets?

Prom Night Events - Sydney School Formal Venues 39

Chill! It’s a 2-Step process…

1/ You buy the tickets online – immediately you receive a confirmation by email. This confirms your booking.

2/ Around 2 days before the event, you’ll receive a NEW email telling you that the tickets are ready for downloading & printing.

We do this because the seating plans are quite complex and there are always a few changes during the planning stages. We hold off issuing tickets until the plans are totally settled. Your actual ticket, when it comes, will contain lots of information, including your seating allocation so it’s important we get that right.

Lost Tickets

“The dog ate them” – “They went through the wash” – “I lost my wallet” – “My Boyfriend had a bathroom emergency”

You wouldn’t believe the stories we hear about what happened to tickets.

What happens if my tickets are GONE?

The first thing to remember is DON’T PANIC! If you were issued a ticket in the first place, then your details are already in our system so you will have a seat at the formal no matter what.

Of course the having your ticket in hand when you arrive at the door is by far the smartest option. If you don’t have your ticket on you, it can cause delays to you (and others) getting through the door so having the ticket is always the best option.

If there’s no way to have your ticket with you then just show up with photo ID and we’ll look you up in the system manually at the door.

In any case, we look forward to seeing you on the night.

Ticket Refunds

There are many and varied reasons why people purchase a ticket to an event (like a formal) and later regret it.

  • Another event comes up that you’d rather attend
  • You might purchase a ticket for a partner who can no longer attend
  • Maybe you’ve changed your mind about going to the event
What if I want a refund on a ticket?

Buying tickets to a formal is no different to an airline flight, a movie or a concert. Whether you’re in your seat or not, everything will go ahead without you. No airline, cinema or venue will refund you just because you’ve changed your mind and decided not to attend. It doesn’t work that way. Everyone involved from Chefs to Suppliers will still have done all the work to create this experience for you to enjoy.

When you purchase tickets online to all of our events, it’s clearly stated (several times), throughout the purchasing process, that you must agree to the conditions, which include strictly “no refunds”. It’s not possible to finalise the purchasing of our tickets unless you tick the box agreeing to that.

We would of course prefer to see you on the night, however if you’ve made a choice not to come, it wouldn’t be reasonable to expect us to pick up the tab for you.

Ticket Buy-Out Club

There are sometimes reasons beyond anyone’s control that prevent you from being able to attend the formal. In the case of individuals, there may be severe illness, accident or other related major emergency.

In the case of events and venues, it could be that a venue suffers a catastrophe or the event is prevented from going ahead due to unforeseen technicalities.

What can I do to protect my ticket costs?

In such cases (subject to criteria) you may be able to obtain a buy-out of your ticket at the original purchase price.

We offer an inexpensive ticket buy-out club membership through TikCover that enables all ticket purchasers to add optional membership to their ticket purchase. If anything prevents you from attending the formal, you may be able to request a ticket “buy-out”.

If I’m considering the TikCover membership, what will it do for me?

General Catastrophe

A General Catastrophe is something that affects the whole community, city, state or even something global, such as a bushfire or a pandemic as we’ve recently encountered.

The way that such a General Catastrophe would be accepted as a reason to trigger a TikCover buy-out would be an incident grave enough as for State or Federal Government authorities to alter or enact legislation or law that would make it impossible or unlawful for the event to take place. A good example would be Covid-19 where some states placed a limitation on mass gatherings that would cause an event to be cancelled.

An event that goes ahead legally would therefore not trigger the ability for any ticket-holder to use General Catastrophe as a reason to apply for a ticket buy-out from the membership pool of funds.

Venue Catastrophe

If something unforeseen happens to the venue. This can be damage, license or zoning changes or any other unfortunate situation that prevents the venue from being able to host the event.

Event Manager Catastrophe

If anything unforeseen (like the above) happens to the event manager preventing the event from going ahead.

Ticket Holder Catastrophe

If the ticket holder experiences a major health incident (severe injury, severe illness requiring emergency medical intervention / hospitalisation etc) preventing attendance at the event.

Having a cold or ordinary flu that makes you feel unwell, even with a regular GP Doctor’s certificate, does not constitute a “Catastrophe”.

Bereavement (immediate family member passing etc). If a member of the IMMEDIATE family passes away (parent, sibling, offspring etc) within a week of the event date preventing attendance at the event.

Other unforeseeable personal catastrophe (home fire/weather decimation etc.) within a week of the event date preventing attendance at the event.

In the above examples, documented evidence would need to be received to verify the incident.

If your ticket is scanned in at the door, you are deemed to have attended.

What instances will TikCover membership NOT help?

If you make a successful buy-out request, you must be aware that the ticket buy-out will not include the cost of TikCover added to the cost of the ticket (and associated transaction fees imposed by the vendor). It will ONLY be the cost of the ticket and booking fees.

-Buy-Out requests submitted AFTER the commencement time of the event.
-Changing your mind on a ticket purchase.
-Your partner deciding not to come to an event with you.
-Being forbidden to attend by a parent, guardian or government authority.
-Illness or injury to someone other than a ticket holder.
-Death of a family member (NOT immediate family, ie: Parent, Sibling, Offspring).
Evacuation or cancellation due to terrorism threat, fire threat, criminal mischief threat, unruly or illegal behaviour at the event causing the event to be shut down or preventing it from proceeding.
-Transport problems.
-Wardrobe malfunctions.
-Emotional breakdowns or arguments.
-Motor vehicle accidents (unless they result in catastrophic injury requiring emergency medical intervention as described above).
-Failure to remember that the event is on.
-Failure to be organised early enough to attend.
-Conflicting events scheduled on the same date.
-Any other occurrence resulting in failure of attendance at the event deemed to be unacceptable by the Event Manager, Security staff or the Venue staff.

If your ticket is scanned in at the door, you are deemed to have attended the event.

Your ticket will not be bought-out if your Covid-19 medical diagnosis OR your notice from Government agencies that you are registered as a “Close Contact” and are MANDATED to self-isolate PREDATES the ticket purchase date. If you purchase tickets with TikCover membership, then subsequently become medically diagnosed with Covid-19 within 2 weeks of your event date, you will be eligible for a buy-out of your ticket if you cannot attend, subject to normal conditions of TikCover and notification or time-frames. “Close Contacts” are only eligible for the length of time prior to the event date that the state government mandates as a minimum self-isolation period at the time and date of the event.

“Proof” of diagnosis and / or mandatory isolation would be required for any buy-out approval.
“Diagnosed”, “Close-Contacts” are defined as follows…
“Diagnosed” means documented diagnosis by a registered medical doctor
“Close-Contact” means registered and documented as a close contact by the state government.
“Proof” means official documentation, either written or digital, from relevant authorities or officials that can, and will, be verified by those authorities or officials upon request.
